External Relations & Support

The DKE External Relations & Support division centrally coordinates the tasks of the German National Committee in the international standards organizations IEC, CENELEC and ETSI. Furthermore, ER&S is the point of contact on the topics of conformity assessment and standardization processes, for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and for young professionals (Next Generation DKE). ER&S is also the interface between DKE and external stakeholders such as associations, organizations and politicians as well as honorary functionaries and is responsible for external representation.

Next Generation DKE - Get to know us!

The Next Generation DKE is a community for young professionals and students on all topics related to the future of standardization at DKE. As a member, you get many insights into the exciting national and international world of standardization and contact with experts in many fields, combined with the goal of strengthening the influence of young people in DKE.

Standardization is a joint task

The DKE External Relations & Support department is responsible for a wide range of tasks relating to standardization policy and strategy as well as communication with the standardization community.

We coordinate the political and strategic activities of the DKE in Germany, Europe and internationally with the aim of strengthening the DKE and electrotechnical standardization in politics and among our stakeholders.

Our task is to ensure and strengthen the importance of standardization in politics, society and industry. We are the interface and point of contact for the German government and its departments as well as for trade associations and other interest groups.

Our close cooperation with the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and collaboration with relevant companies, organizations and partners is a matter of course.

A large part of electrotechnical standardization takes place at European and international level! We coordinate international cooperation, develop common goals and agreements and set the course for successful bilateral cooperation - in Europe and around the world. In this way, we shape the European and international network in CENELEC and IEC.

We also strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in standardization and support young professionals in getting started in the DKE committees.

We plan and publish topics relevant to standardization and communicate these on the DKE channels.

We are in close contact with the communicators from IEC and CENELEC, DIN and the VDE Group.
